PINBALL MADNESS AU MUTOIDE (AUGUST 23-24, 2025)
TOURNAMENT RULES:
Players will be tasked with competing on a variety of machines, ranging from the 1970s to the 2020s. Players may purchase unlimited tickets to play individual games on the tournament machines (Best Game format).
Each player’s best score on each machine is tracked and those scores are ranked against the other competitor’s scores using the Matchplay software. Players receive an aggregate of their machine rankings on the top 5 games in the tournament to determine their overall qualifying position. Tournament points are awarded per machine, as follows.
1st place - 100 points
2nd place - 90 points
3rd place - 85 points
4th place - 84 points
5th place - 83 points
6th place - 82 points (etc etc) …
Following qualifying, the top 16 players will advance to the finals on Sunday at 3:30pm. Groups will be determined by seeding, and the finals will be PAPA style, groups of 4 players on 3 games, with the top seed “driving the bus” by choosing game or order. Scoring is 4/2/1/0. Top 2 from each group advance.
Tournament entry is $10 per player, which includes 5 game tickets.
Additional tickets can be purchased on site at a cost of 5 for $10.
Players can purchase an unlimited number of tickets, and are encouraged to pre-register to avoid delays on the days of the event.
All tournament entries are non-refundable, including unplayed tickets.
All funds from paid tickets goes into the prize pool (minus IFPA fee, payment processing fees, and taxes). Players will receive cash prizes based on their finishing position. Additionally, trophies are awarded to the top 4. Final payouts are determined by the tournament’s prize pool based on paid entries and sponsorship funds.
PAYOUTS:
1st – 25%
2nd – 20%
3rd – 16.7%
4th – 13.3%
5th – 10%
6th – 6.67%
7th – 5%
8th – 3.3%
PLAYOFF SEEDING:
Only significant tie-breakers will occur (final playoff spot). For non-significant tie-breakers, if a player’s total points matches another player’s total points, the player with the best single game ranking will be the higher seed. For example: Player A has a 1st place score on Dolly Parton, Player B doesn’t have any 1st place scores, therefore Player A is the higher seed. If both have the same highest game ranking, we look at the next highest, and so on.
